Injury to Davis forces 'another lineup change'

PHILADELPHIA -- Baron Davis' availability was supposed to be a game-time
decision.
But 45 minutes before tipoff, it was announced that Davis, who was kicked in
his right Achilles tendon while fighting for a rebound in Sunday's loss at
Toronto, would not play Monday against the Sixers.
"Another lineup change," Hornets coach Byron Scott said. "That eight in a row
will be tested."
The Hornets had started the same lineup -- Davis, J.R. Smith, P.J. Brown,
Rodney Rogers and Lee Nailon -- for eight consecutive games. New Orleans
had gone 3-5 over that stretch.
Dan Dickau started in place of Davis on Monday, with Junior Harrington
becoming part of Scott's eight-man rotation off the bench.
Davis injured his ankle with 1:51 remaining in the third quarter Sunday. He
attempted to go back into the game midway through the fourth quarter, but
was advised by trainer Terry Kofler, after running the baseline during a
timeout, to sit out the rest of the way.
Davis received treatment before Monday's game, but the ankle did not
respond. His status for Wednesday night's home game against Indiana is
uncertain.
Monday's game was the 20th Davis has missed this season because of injury.
He missed 19 games with an inflamed disc in his lower back. He returned
from the injured list Dec. 21 and played Dec. 22. In his past six games before
Monday, Davis averaged 19.8 points, 9.7 assists and 6.5 rebounds.
READ ALL ABOUT IT: It might have seemed as though there was a sideshow
in town when the Hornets arrived, because Philadelphia's two major daily
newspapers ran pieces about the team's race with destiny against the 1972-
73 Sixers.
Fred Carter, a national television analyst who was the MVP of that
Philadelphia team that holds the distinction as the worst in NBA history,
finishing with a 9-73 record, was the focus of pieces in The Philadelphia
Inquirer and the Daily News.
With the Hornets at one time threatening the Sixers' record, Carter has been
the contact point for numerous stories.
"You would become the universal health spa of the league," Carter told The
Inquirer about that lost season. "Everybody knows you're the get-well card.
Players on the other teams would feel sorry for you before and after the
game, but not during it."
GROWING CONFIDENCE: Sunday's loss to the Raptors and Monday's to the
Sixers notwithstanding, it appears as though the players are beginning to
show improvement after a slow start to the season. Forward P.J. Brown says
that is the case, especially on the defensive end.
"We're more confident coming down the stretch now, on both ends," Brown
said. Offensively, shots we were missing in those losses, we're making now.
"And defensively, we communicate a lot better. We're able to execute on the
defensive end, and rebound. When we put all those things together, it's
coming out wins for us."
The Hornets didn't shoot that badly against the Sixers -- hitting 43 percent,
but they turned the ball over 17 times, which Philadelphia turned into 17
points.

不過後面提到"仆街布朗"大哥(P.J. Brown)對於隊上的狀態
其實還滿有信心的...對費城其實感覺真的還不差啊~~
