Addition of Free Agent Sets Training Camp Roster at 17

NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Hornets announced today that they have signed
free agent Eric Chenowith. Per team policy, terms of the contracts were not
released. The addition of Chenowith sets the Hornets’ training camp roster
at 17.
Chenowith, a 7-1 center, started last season as a free agent with the Chicago
Bulls before being released before the start of the regular season. He signed
a temporary contract with Criollos de Caguars in Puerto Rico before moving to
Cariduros de Fajardo of the same league. He averaged 5.8 points and 4.5
rebounds in 18.1 minutes over 11 games with Fajardo. A former standout at
Kansas, Chenowith was originally selected with the 43rd overall in the 2001
NBA Draft by the New York Knicks.
