Update: West (ankle) is unlikely to play when the Hornets open their season on
Wednesday, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Recommendation: West, who sprained his ankle last Friday and missed the club's
final preseason game, did not practice on Sunday, instead getting treatment. "I
don't see him playing Wednesday," Hornets coach Byron Scott said. "He's coming
in every day and getting treatment, but right now he's got to get healthy. He
knows everything we're doing on both ends of the court, so that's not an
issue." Melvin Ely worked with the starters during Sunday's practice.
