先恭喜費城人今年打入世界大賽，也因為這樣才注意到費城人隊，然後回去翻了一下1980年的世界大賽，看到了一個熟悉的名字，Tug McGraw，Tim McGraw的父親。 Tug McGraw當年共出賽了四場，成績如下： IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA Game1 2 1 0 0 0 2 0 0.00 (S,1) Game3 0.2 2 1 1 2 1 0 3.38 (L, 0-1) Game5 3 1 0 0 4 5 0 1.59 (W, 1-1) Game6 2 3 0 0 2 2 0 1.17 (S,2) Game6 九局上，Tug McGraw最後三振了Willie Nelson ，費城人拿下第一座的世界大賽冠軍。費城人迷對他應該都熟悉。會想聊Tug McGraw是因為Tim McGraw的關係，Tim McGraw是目前美國相當紅的鄉村歌手(Faith Hill的老公)；他和Tug McGraw有一小段相認的故事。 1966年，當Tug McGraw還在小聯盟Jackonville Suns投球的時候，他認識了同住在一棟大樓的Betty D'Agostino，兩人交往了一段時間，當然也上了床。後來Betty 懷孕後被她的父母親送到Louisiana和親戚同住，'67年5月生下了Tim McGraw。之後Betty再婚，Tim McGraw就在生母和繼父的扶養之下長大。因為Betty隱埋Tim McGraw的生父，所以Tim McGraw一直以為他的繼父就是他的親生父親。直到他11歲那年，為了想找他媽媽藏的聖誕禮物，在他翻櫃子的時候意外的讓Tim McGraw看到他的出生證明，上面寫的父親是Tug McGraw。後來Tim McGraw的媽媽向他坦承，不久之後他媽媽就帶著他去跟Tug McGraw相認， Tim McGraw 那晚看了爸爸投球，結果Tug McGraw被幹了一支滿貫炮。其實在這之前， Tim有在收集棒球卡，貼在牆上的其中一張就是Tug McGraw，只是他完全不曉得那個人就是自己的親生父親。父子兩人第一次見面氣氛顯得有點尬尷，Tug McGraw 一時之間並沒有辦法接受，當時Tug McGraw也有自己的家庭。之後，他們父子倆又見了一次面。接著，中間的７年就完全沒有再見過面。直到Tim McGraw十八歲的時候，父子再次見面，Tug McGraw這次接受了 Tim McGraw；之後父子兩個一直都非常親近，一直到Tug McGraw去世。 Tug McGraw在'03年被診斷出腦瘤，惡性腫瘤。後期就一直在接受化療，到了2004年一月時去世，那時候Tim McGraw正在錄製他的新專輯。八月，Tim McGraw發行了新專輯Live Like You Were Dying，同名的歌曲則是獻給他最愛的父親，Tug McGraw。另外，Tim McGraw今年的世界大賽也會去現場幫費城人加油。 Live Like You Were Dying MV : http://tw.youtube.com/watch?v=7mHaFMqde6A 音樂錄影帶最後可以看到Tug McGraw在1980年投出最後致勝的一球。歌詞寫得很棒，有興趣的可以往下拉。 He said: "I was in my early forties, "With a lot of life before me, "An' a moment came that stopped me on a dime. He said "I was finally the husband, "That most the time I wasn’t. "An' I became a friend a friend would like to have. "And all of a sudden goin' fishin’, "Wasn’t such an imposition, "And I went three times that year I lost my Dad. "Well, I finally read the Good Book, "And I took a good long hard look, "At what I'd do if I could do it all again, "And then: "I went sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing, "I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu. "And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter, "And I gave forgiveness I'd been denying." An' he said: "Some day, I hope you get the chance, "To live like you were dyin'." Like tomorrow was a gift, And you got eternity, To think about what you’d do with it. An' what did you do with it? An' what can I do with it? An' what would I do with it?
