Pirates Avoid Arbitration With Charlie Morton

The Pirates avoided arbitration with starter Charlie Morton, MLBTR has learned,
agreeing on a one-year deal worth $2.445MM. The Proformance client tops Matt
Swartz's projection by over $300K. Morton was arbitration eligible for the
first time, and peers such as Chris Volstad, J.A. Happ, Randy Wells,
Clayton Richard, and Homer Bailey will take note of his agreement.
