Some highlights: On the experience: Great. … We’re playing for a lot at stake. It is not like an All-Star (Game) where everybody’s are just joking around playing and messing around this is very, very competitive. Our training camp was really competitive with guys going at each other. On making it work with many star players: You got to have the right personalities intact. You got to have guys take a more supportive role and are willing to embrace that. … For instance, myself, coming in I am not going to be a guy that is going to play most of the game. I am not going to take a lot of the last shots and do a lot of things that I usually do. I am here to pretty much lead, play tough defense and get the ball to our young scorers. It is a different role for me but it’s something I’m enjoying and I love doing it. On the most complete player in the NBA: Kobe Bryant. Carmelo, he is the best player for our team as far as the international game goes. On whether the better team won in the Pistons-Cavs Eastern Conference Finals? No I really don’t. I am a guy that is very honest and I give it up you know I am always pretty candid. That team won, they beat us you have to give them credit I have never took credit from them. I still feel we were the better team but obviously we didn’t play as good as would have liked to for six straight games. Even the games we won it didn’t feel like wins for us. They out played us for six games, I will admit that but I don’t think they were the better team. On why the Pistons didn’t play their best in the playoffs: It was a calculation of a few things. Us playing extended minutes, the starters, again for the fifth straight year kind of wore us down a little bit. I think mentally we got a little bogged down. Everybody talks about Rasheed and Flip but I can’t say that had a major effect on what went on. It was a number of different things and when you have a lot of things going on they kind of sneak up on you. On trying to work through Flip and Rasheed: It’s a tough situation. I know that when “Sheed” is focused and ready to play I don’t believe there is anyone in the league that can guard him. At the same time I believe in Flip and what he’s doing. I’m trying to mend everything together and put out small fires all the time. At the same time we got Cleveland who’s emerging, coming along strong. We got to worry about them as well. It becomes an overwhelming situation sometimes but it’s what you got to do. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 163.20.151.109
