Sixers must click on all cylinders to beat Pistons By TOM MOORE phillyBurbs.com If there was one team Andre Iguodala didn't want to face in the first round of the NBA playoffs, it was the Pistons. Hello, Detroit. Monday night's controversial 91-90 home loss to the Cavaliers, coupled with the Raptors' win over the Heat, ensured that the Sixers would finish with the seventh seed and draw the No. 2 Pistons in a best-of-seven series beginning this weekend. “Detroit's, by far, in my opinion, the best team in the East,” Iguodala said after the game. “In order to beat them, you've got to play perfect. It's going to be a challenge for us to go out there and try to play to perfection.” While Iguodala realizes the NBA-leading Celtics have a better record than the Pistons, he said Detroit's experience and familiarity — not to mention five consecutive trips to the Eastern Conference finals — make Flip Saunders' team a most difficult opponent. “I don't think that matters,” Iguodala said. “They're the type of team that can turn it on, turn it off at anytime. This isn't the first year they've been good. Boston, this is the first time they've had a great year in a while with that group.” Samuel Dalembert echoed those sentiments. “Detroit is such a great team,” Dalembert said. “You just have to watch out. Those guys have been in the playoffs many times before. Nothing fazes them. It's scary to play against that team.” While the Sixers (40-41) still have to close out the regular season tonight in Charlotte, the only thing they'll be playing former Hatboro-Horsham standout Matt Carroll and the Bobcats for is a .500 record. They've already begun turning their attention to Detroit, which might be the most balanced club in the league. The Pistons have four players averaging at least 13 points with ex-Coatesville High star Rip Hamilton (17.5) leading the way. “We've got a lot to be excited for,” coach Maurice Cheeks said. “I know it's going to be a tough road against Detroit — we understand that. All year we fought our way.
