如果選得到的話,六個活塞鐵定會考慮選擇的球員。
J.J. Hickson, 6-foot-9, PF/SF, N.C. State
Hickson didn't put up huge numbers as a freshman at N.C. State (14.8 points,
8.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game) but his size, strength and ability to
score in the post are qualities the Pistons would love to have. The biggest
knock on Hickson is that, like most young players, his game has a lot of room
to get better. He hasn't shown the ability to shoot from outside the paint
consistently, and his shooting motion leaves a lot to be desired. Still, with
the next-to-last pick of the first round, he's worth the gamble.
Serge Ibeka, 6-10, F/C, Congo
An exceptional athlete with great length and athleticism. His leaping ability
has drawn favorable comparisons to Shawn Kemp and Amare Stoudemire, a pair of
a high-flying big men. Like most young players -- he's reportedly 19 years
old -- Ibeka needs to get stronger and continue to strengthen his core skills
such as ball-handling and becoming a better, more reliable rebounder. He's
one of a handful of players that's expected to be among the last five picks
of the first round.
Chris Douglas-Roberts, 6-7, SG, Memphis
Few improved their NBA draft stock in the NCAA tournament more than
Douglas-Roberts. He is a confident player who doesn't shy away from taking
the big shot. He played some at the point early in his career and in high
school and it has helped make him a better-than-average ball handler at the
shooting guard position. His lack of strength will be an issue.
Douglas-Roberts should be off the board by the time Detroit picks, but it'll
be hard for the Pistons to pass on him if he's still around.
D.J. White, 6-8, PF, Indiana
An undersized power forward who plays with great energy and has a nice touch
around the basket ... in other words, he's Jason Maxiell with a couple more
inches. White has missed significant time while in college due to injuries,
which makes him a bit of a gamble even as a late first-round pick.
Joey Dorsey, 6-7, PF, Memphis
One of the strongest players in the draft, Dorsey's ability to rebound and
defend makes him a guy that's definitely going to get a shot to play in the
NBA. But his offensive shortcomings, poor free-throw shooting and lack of
size for a power forward, will be obstacles he'll have to overcome. He's a
bit of a stretch with a late first-round pick, but definitely not out of the
question.
JaVale McGee, 7-0, C, Nevada
Has height and length, two qualities that will serve him well in the NBA.
Runs the floor well for a 7-footer and has a nice shooting touch around the
basket. Has the potential to be one of the best players in this draft class
based on how his game has progressed in a short period of time. McGee, who
was born in Flint, needs to develop one or two go-to moves. One of the
biggest surprises of the night would be if he's on the board when Detroit
picks. If he is, the Pistons will once again leave the first round with one
of the biggest steals of the night.
