Gonzalez 'undecided' on trade to Montreal

What a difference a day makes.
In a departure from the comments of his agent on Tuesday night, Rangers
outfielder Juan Gonzalez said Wednesday that he remains undecided about
whether to accept a trade to the Montreal Expos.
Gonzalez, who spent much of the time before Wednesday night’s pre-game
declining interviews, granted a quick one on the hoof from the Rangers
clubhouse to the weight room.
Gonzalez said he did meet with Montreal general manager Omar Minaya during
the day along with his agent, Jeff Moorad. He was asked if he has made up
his mind to decline, as is his contractual right, the trade that would send
him to the Expos for two and possibly three young players.
"It is my decision and right now I am undecided," he said, reversing course
from Moorad’s remarks Tuesday night that his client had decided not to
accept the trade.
He was asked if he is angry that the Rangers made the deal public before
giving him a chance to consider it in private.
"No, no," he said. "I am in my routine, I am working out with my teammates."
Gonzalez, who said his groin injury and soreness are healed, said his
indecision has nothing to do with going to the Expos, just that he’s not sure
he wants to leave Texas for the remainder of the year.
He also said his indecision was not a ploy to get a new deal from the Expos.
