[外電] Notes: Offseason picking up steam
這一篇也是老消息~討論剛爺加入我們,並且重申剛爺的之前因為受傷而出賽場次
很少,但還是有著優異的過往表現~另外就是在說也正很積極的和Mark Mulder
以及ZITO談~並和Boras戰鬥中(那順便也把小曹推薦給我們好了)~~XD~
大致上就差不多是這樣的消息~請大家慢用.....
ARLINGTON --
Relief pitcher Eric Gagne is scheduled to be in Texas on Monday
for his physical after agreeing to a one-year contract with the Rangers this
week.
Gagne has been limited to 16 appearances over the past two years because of
elbow and back surgery, so this will not be just another routine physical.
But he had 152 saves between 2002-04 and was the National League Cy Young
Award winner in 2003.
The Rangers hope he can be either their closer or an eighth-inning setup
reliever for Akinori Otsuka, who had 32 saves for them last season.
Gagne is not the only pitcher that the Rangers hope can come back from injury
and be an effective pitcher for them. On Tuesday, Rangers owner Tom Hicks and
general manager Jon Daniels brought in pitcher Mark Mulder and his agent,
Gregg Clifton, for a visit.
"It went well," Daniels said. "We had a chance to show him some of Dallas and
talk more about the direction of the team and his situation. All in all, it
was positive."
The Rangers have made Mulder an offer, but other teams are interested and the
Rangers are not expecting a resolution until next week.
The Rangers also expect discussions with pitcher Barry Zito and agent Scott
Boras to pick up next week. Boras has been busy representing Japanese pitcher
Daisuke Matsuzaka in their negotiations with the Boston Red Sox, but that
will be resolved on Thursday.
The New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants are among the other teams that
are showing serious interest in Zito.
