[外電] Rangers announce Minor League staff
ARLINGTON --
Former Dodgers infielder Dave Anderson has been named manager of
the Rangers' Double-A farm team in Frisco, the club announced on Tuesday.
Anderson was the Dodgers' infield coordinator in 2006 after spending four
years as head coach at the University of Memphis. He also spent 10 seasons in
the Major Leagues and was a shortstop/utility infielder on the 1988 World
Series champion Dodgers.
Former Rangers third baseman Scott Coolbaugh will be on his staff as hitting
coach and Terry Clark, another former Rangers player, will be the pitching
coach at Frisco for the second straight year. Coolbaugh spent four years as a
Minor League manager in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.

Bobby Jones returns to Triple-A Oklahoma as the manager with pitching coach
Andy Hawkins and hitting coach Randy Whisler on his coaching staff. Hawkins
was the RedHawks pitching coach in 2006 when they posted a 3.89 ERA, the
lowest in club history. Jones was on the Rangers' Major League coaching staff
in 2006 and enters his 20th season as a Rangers coach or Minor League
Manager.

He is the Rangers all-time winningest manager with a record of 1,138-1,133.
He has guided his teams into the playoffs in nine of 16 years as a Minor
League manager. He won the Texas League title as manager of the Tulsa
Drillers in 1998 and the Florida State League title as manager of the Port
Charlotte Rangers in 1989.
The Rangers have also named Carlos Subero manager of Class A Bakersfield,
Mike Micucci manager of Class A Clinton, Andy Fox manager of Class A Spokane
and Pedro Lopez as manager of their Arizona Rookie League team.

This will be Subero's second season at Bakersfield. Former big leaguers Mike
Anderson (pitching coach) and hitting coach Brant Brown join his staff.
Anderson spent the past eight seasons in the Cubs organization.
Micucci was at Spokane last year and will be joined by hitting coach Brian
Dayett and pitching coach Danny Clark. Fox was at Clinton last year. Hector
Ortiz joins him as hitting coach, while the Rangers are still looking for a
pitching coach at Spokane. Lopez was the hitting coach at Bakersfield in 2006
but managed in the Arizona League for the Rangers in 2003-2005.
Pitching coach Keith Comstock and hitting coach Paul Herfurth, who has a
distinguished high school coaching record in Florida, will be on Lopez's
staff. Comstock, a former Major League pitcher, spent the last five seasons
as a pitching coach in the Angels organization.
