While waiting to finish a contract on Sammy Sosa, the Rangers have signed right-handed pitcher Jamey Wright to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Spring Training. He made seven starts for the Rangers' Triple-A team in Oklahoma in 2003 but was not brought up to the big leagues. He has a career record of 67-98 with a 5.14 ERA in 260 games, including 237 starts in all or parts of 11 Major League seasons. He won a career-high 11 games for the Brewers in 2001. He was the Rockies No. 1 draft pick in 1993.
