[新聞] Rangers ink Feldman to two-year extension
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Rangers have reached an agreement with pitcher Scott
Feldman on a two-year contract extension.
Feldman was already signed for 2010. The new deal reworks his contract for
2010, signs him through 2012 and adds a club option for 2013. The
right-hander will receive $2.425 million in 2010, $4.4 million in 2011 and
$6.5 million in 2012. The Rangers' option for 2013 is worth $9.25 million
with a $600,000 buyout.
Feldman is the Rangers' Opening Day starter after going 17-8 with a 4.08 ERA
in 31 starts and three relief appearances in 2009. He was voted the club's
Pitcher of the Year.
He is one of only four Rangers to have a guaranteed contract beyond this
season. The others are infielders Michael Young and Ian Kinsler and pitcher
Colby Lewis.
On Friday, the Rangers also cleared off another roster space when they sold
pitcher Luis Mendoza to the Royals for $200,000.
