Posted at 6:20 PM on Tue., Apr. 20, 2010 | Evan Grant/Blogger BOSTON - Ian Kinsler on Tuesday went through his most rigorous workout Tuesday since suffering a high ankle sprain in early March. The Rangers want to see him do some "explosive" running before sending him out to begin a rehab assignment. While Kinsler will yield to advice from the trainers and doctors, he'd just as soon head West on Wednesday. "I've done a lot today that I haven't done yet," said Kinsler. "I just think I will need to strengthen the ankle up with a lot of baseball activities. If I wake up [Wednesday] and feel good, I would like to leave and go to Arizona where I can get as much of a workout in as possible. Hopefully, that can accelerate this mini-spring training into a few days." Ron Washington's hope is that Kinsler can come back and run today and maybe incorporate some of the "explosive" running on Thursday. That might allow him to begin a rehab assignment on Friday. Either way, it's likely the Rangers are looking at the same time frame for his return.
