That's what they did Friday by grabbing Ramon Aguero off the waiver wire from the Pirates and signing foermer Colorado closer Manny Corpas to a minor-league deal. Aguero, who had elbow tendinitis in spring training, will go to Triple-A Round Rock. The Rangers like his arm and are hoping that if he can stay healthy and work with the pitching coaches, maybe he'll find some command. Corpas is a longer-range project. The 28-year-old had Tommy John surgery in September and is rehabbing. He's unlikely to pitch this season, but could be ready to go for 2012. Again, the Rangers like taking chances on these types of guys. It doesn't cost much and if they blossom into something, they've got a real bargain.
