Raptors' Carter out 2-4 weeks
TORONTO -- All-Star guard Vince Carter will be sidelined for two to four weeks
with a sprained left ankle, Raptors coach Kevin O'Neill said Thursday.
Carter was hurt in the fourth quarter of Toronto's 86-82 loss to San Antonio
on Wednesday night and had to use crutches after the game.
An MRI exam Thursday showed he had a moderate ankle sprain.
"It will be a while," O'Neill said about how long Carter will sit out.
The Raptors are already missing Jalen Rose, who has four broken bones in his
left hand, and rookie center Chris Bosh, who re-sprained his left ankle
Wednesday.
The Raptors (25-28) were clinging to a playoff position heading into Friday
night's game against the New Jersey Nets, the winners of a franchise-record-
tying 11 straight games.
"We have to find a way anyway," O'Neill said of the playoff race. "We would
have gotten in had we not had injuries."
