這不是全部 有興趣聽整個記者會的可以去這邊 http://0rz.tw/444qu ---- BC: 6 time all star think his stats and performance speak for themselves but when we talk about the level of talent that wer’ve added to the roster and the core we have, it’s already a competitive group you think this season bodes very well for us basketball wise. SO we’re going to have Sam talk about basketball aspect of things while we look at this and I can certainly say that of all the transactions for the TJ ford sweepstakes, this was clearly the #1 rated deal we looked at from the very beginning. It’s been a wild 2 and a half months, adding Jermaine was top of the list, the guy more excited than me sitting to my right. As BC said when you look at scenarios and trades we talked about having the 17th pick and I told my friends when they called me, my 17th pick doesn’t average 20 points 10 rebounds 6 time all star and when you look at what he brings, leadership, veteran, rebounds, things we desperately needed, he gives a chance to compete and get a title, he fits the bill and I’m very proud and fortunate to coach him and the rest of the guys. Feel we’ve put together a good group of young men/a basketball team. I saw some old San Antonio games and they had an idea to use 2 guys who can score the basketball. The other players better get out and run, because when we slow down, it’s going to them and play from there. We decided to look at what he brings to our team and the east is getting better, the West has the balance but a team form the East won, if you’re going to compete with Boston/Detroit you gotta get better and we feel we couldn’t ask for much more. JO: First of all thanks ownership, management and coach Mitchell and most of all the most important thing is.. I went for a walk in Yorkville and the reception I got was unbelievable and I’m very excited to be here and think we have a real chance to do something special but you gotta work and for me its kind of like a new life, probably one of the worst situations in Indiania behind the scenes that wore you down and I started not enjoying playing as much as I loved playing and when I got the call from my agent, it was like a rebirth, sometimes you lose that love and you need a move to bring that fire back, and a team and a fanbase like the Raptors have, it was like a whole new life and I was very excited about it and had an emotional high and now that I’m here I’m ready to roll my sleeves up, knee is healthy, got that situation taken care of so now we can compete for a championship. Chris is a player that gives you a lot of different looks, one of the best in the game, left hander, can do a lot, 611, put it on the floor, shoot the jumpshot, post up, this type of tandem.. it’s been a while since Duncan and Robinson. We have great 3 point shooting, I think I will bring a diff defensive presence, take charges, block shots, alter shots, Chris and I covering the paint should be great. “Knee problems” History of my knee. I tore it 2.5 years ago, slightly. And ended up tearing it more by playing on it, meniscus tear, an dI didn’t want to not play the team was going through such a tough time. Comrpomised the health of my knee, played on it for 1.5 years, decided that I needed surgery, gradually got worse. Thought it was in my best interest to get surgery. Had surgery last summer, came back to new coach, new system, wanted to get out there and again I covered my eyes and the actual surgery was fine, had 3 on the knee caused a lot of swelling then shut the leg down form thigh to the ankle so I made a career move, decided to sit out 43 straight games. Independent doctors, best knee specialists in country, all came to the conclusion that I needed to sit out and rehab if I wanted to be healthy next season and the summer I had to make that move, so we did that, came back the last 10 days then the season wasn’t going well, went off to home in Vegas since, been working ever since, feel good, feel strong, knee is healthy, no problems and no doubt in my mind that it will b e a healthy year. BC: We did a thorough examination 7 days ago, JO submitted scans and images that were taken and our medical team, gave it a full green light. No doubts that the dedication he has put into rehab.. it is not a concern for us at all. “Rebirth here.. do you think what happened in Indi put dent in rep?” I think I did, if you check with the NBA I did a lot of stuff with the community than a lot of others. People know the type of guy I am. At the end of the day I have a wife/2 kids and its up to the players at the end of the game to do things as professional athlete, some guys make bad decisions that take you away from basketball, and you can hope they make the right ones but sometimes they make the wrong ones and you have to expect criticism and sometimes it’s unfair. It was mind blowing in a way that these situations kept happening. It just happened that I don’t think people look at me as a bad person. If people do think that way I can’t really change their opinions. Something about stats I think numbers don’t measure success, chris and I average 20/10 a game and everyone else plays that’d be great. But sacrifices have to be made, so much talent, so many guys who can score. My success is wins and losses, any given night Chris, Jose are going to have it, but we have to win, we’re not going to gauge success through #’s. Do I think I’m capable, absolutely. “Bargnagni…?” I think he has a lot of talent. I worked out with him in Vegas, if he can get a bit more toughness to him he’s going to be dominant. He’s a key with that team, he can change the whole dimension of the game, the 3, put it on the floor, learn the low post he’ll be tough to cover. To me when I look at the sitatuon the biggest thing that stood out to me was sacrifice that all 3 of them made (Boston), you need that in this league, forget yourself and the numbers, think about your teammates and that’s one thing that stuck out to me, the sacrifice, one guy falters the other guy picks it up and they never let down on defense. Great character guys too. 60 win teams.. blah blah Never made it to the finals. Special is a year where a team comes together and create the atmosphere in the city and the people that follow you and you get that feeling you’re doing great things. You gotta sit down and make that evident of what you wanna do. From day one that feeling needs to be set. Hard to explain, if you play sports you know what I’m talking about, that special feeling. We knew in Indi when we had the best record, we had sat down from day 1 knowing that it was our chance. We’ll hold eachother accountable on and off the court. Franchise player since Indi. Here Chris occupies same role. Whose team? I talked with Sam, this is Chris’s team. I’m here to help them lead it. He’s been the center piece for some time and he’s quite a talent. I’ve been trhough rough times the last 4 years, I just want to do whatever will make this team successful. When you’ve been an AS, that level of player and it all comes crashing down, both personally and the team, how doe sit change your approach? Tell you the truth I’m not 50. I’ve played on 1 leg for 2.6 years and didn’t want to tell anyone. If you look at the #’s you know what they are, I’ve been one of the most efficient PF’s in the game. I’m not concerned about the past, I’m looking forward. New life for me, full trust in myself that I’ll do what is necessary to be one of the best players in the league and it may not necessarily be about the numbers, but to me its all about the team. To get us to be a championship level. How people view it doesn’t matter as long as I finish my career a champion. I like to bang, I like contact, and he’s more a finesse guy, and you need that, give a team different looks when you talk about Bosh and I together that means one of us will be on the court at all times. At some point he has to go off the court, but we have Andre, myself, Chris, we’ll be tough to deal with. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 99.255.210.17
