Dear Seattle Sports Fans, As I drive through the morning mist on my way downtown to the Key, I'm once again in awe at the overwhelming beauty of Seattle in the Spring. A city ripe with rolling green vistas, fragrant breezes, majestic mountains and views of the sound - a city of unrivaled splendor, a city I am proud to have adopted as my own. It's because of this hometown pride that I am compelled to write you, my fellow Seattleites. I'm feeling disappointed, as I'm sure you are, too. You see, I, like you, had my hopes up that there would be Sonics playoff basketball in Seattle this Spring. The visions of what we accomplished as a team last year at this time plays over in my mind like a recurring dream... Northwest Division Champs, pushing the World Champion Spurs to the brink, the electricity we all felt in KeyArena - it was awesome. Like you, those days have left me with a feeling of unrest, but there's something else, too. It's something even more powerful than that dream of the past. It's excitement for what's to come. When I think about what is right around the corner for the Seattle SuperSonics, I am filled with anticipation. Looking at our roster, we are loaded with young talent at every position. And as much as this season has left us all feeling a little “sleepless,” the trades that we made and the development of our younger players have put us in a position to do some incredible things in this league over the next several seasons. Not convinced?I have a proposition that I think might just change your mind. Come check us out Wednesday night at the Key for our home finale versus Denver. We will match you with a ticket for a regular season game in November, when our franchise's 40th season has begun. Full Season Ticket Holders, we’re taking care of you, too.
