Michel's first press conference as Real Madrid Castilla coach
(↑這個字母其實不是"i",而是西文"i"加重音節...XD)
In his first press conference as Real Madrid Castilla's new coach, Joseé
Miguel Gonzalez, ‘Michel’, explained his model for managing the youth
system, developing young talent, and supplying the first team with players.
Backed by President Ramon Calderon, the new Castilla coach clarified
exactly how his relationships with Fabio Capello and Pedja Mijatovic will be.
It was President Ramon Calderon's who opened the act, and he began by
praising the man to his right. “Michel's arrival is just as important as
Capello's and Mijatovic's. We want him to create players in our ‘Factory’,
as well as develop men, because that's what I really value. It's what Real
Madrid has done throughout its history. Of course, not everyone will be a
great player, but they are all human beings who will be brought up by people
that will instill in them the fundamental values for being good men. He is a
very important piece of the puzzle because he will develop players for the
first team. He's in charge,” stated Calderon, who then responded to
questions about the Club's future.
以下是Ramon Calderon的訪問.....
Is Vicente Del Bosque included in your future plans?
I have spoken to Del Bosque and he told me he would have loved to be here,
but today he was in Malaga with his daughter. He thanked me for calling him.
He is a piece of Real Madrid's history and we'll speak again before summer
ends. He wished me all the best for Michel.
What about Zidane?
I haven't been able to speak to him yet. He wants to take it easy this year
and fulfill some sponsor commitments he has. I would be proud to have him
here. I will let you know what he says once we have spoken.
When will the dormitory be finished?
We will inaugurate it as soon as we can. We want all the kids to be out here
and for each age group to have their own wing. We want to bring them up here
and have them take classes here. It would be as great as winning the European
Cup. We want them drenched in Real Madrid spirit.
Would you accept and offer for Casillas?
Fabio Capello doesn't want to lose Casillas, and the President wants what the
coach wants.
MICHEL'S PRESS CONFERENCE:
What are your duties?
We want to develop players of all ages physically, mentally, and tactically.
We don't want to develop players for just one determined style of play. The
first team coach may last three or four year, but after...We cannot depend on
that. We cannot change directions, and the word ‘develop’ will always be in
our vocabulary. These men need to be able to play for any coach, in any style
of play. We will divide the coaches up by ages, and they can progress from
there, maybe becoming coach of the first team some day. It's difficult to
play Capello's style of football, so we need to reach some sort of agreement.
Will you intervene in player transfers?
In the sports aspect, I'm responsible for informing Pedja and giving him my
opinion about possible questions about players and their status: if they
leave or if they're transferred. But, I won't ever be responsible for the
economic aspect. His men decide all that. We will just be responsible for
informing him about the sports side.
Who will join Capello during the preseason?
Seven players: Casilla, Codina, Arbeloa, De la Red, Soldado, Balboa, and
Jurado. Plus, Juanfran, who has returned to Castilla. We'll then figure out
what to do on 5 August when they all get back. We'll figure out who is
staying and who isn't.
Will the Castilla players continue indefinitely with the first team?
According to Mijatovic, whoever makes it to the first team has the right to
be there. That sometimes confuses the player. Whoever deserves to be there
will stay. Moving back and forth can throw a player off, and we can't figure
out where a player is from a sports standpoint or a personal standpoint.
If Capello left, would you be willing to coach the first team?
I'm not thinking about Capello being dismissed. I have enough to worry about
with the kids and Castilla. I won't be a cause for Capello not to continue
coaching here. I want to be like him some day; to have as many wins and coach
his style of football. I have a lot to learn still, including Italian.
Do you think a dormitory will be built?
We've gotten to a point where a decision had been made, and changing it
wouldn't be practical. Decisions had to be made and we don't have another
solution but to continue planning.
Do you still believe 70% of the players should be from Madrid?
Youth players from big cities are having less and less opportunities to play
for their teams, because most Clubs bring in players from other places.
Furthermore, they could progress faster because they are considered stars.
We're trying to get them to come, not just for the money, but for their
desire to come play for Real Madrid. We want the kids to understand that they
are coming to a huge oasis of the football world, and that money shouldn't be
the first thing they think about.
Do you think you will be able to apply a style of play that you weren't able
to use at Rayo Vallecano?
Good football leads to victory. We'll try to finish at the top of the table,
as well as make the youth system as productive as can be by developing good
players. It's a lot of pressure and responsibility for us, but it goes along
with being part of this Club.
Have you already planned the preseaon?
It's practically done. We will finish it at the office. The first team will
take some players, allowing us to restructure the squad and to bring up
players from the Third Team. If they do well, they have a good chance of
staying, hopefully for many years to come.
What do you think about Floro's idea to consider Madrid a class?
Considering it a class, I always sought professors like Gallego, San Jose,
Jaro, and Mandia: players who triumphed and did so starting at a young age.
I began when I was 12 years old, but so did they.
When do you think there will be another ‘Buitre Five’?
Since 1995-96, no player as important as Raul or Guti has come up, except
for Casillas. We did get Mejia, Pavon, etc., to the first team, and we hope
to continue down that road of production. They might not make as much, but we
hope they remain with the first team for a long time. The ‘Zidanes and
Pavones’ have always existed. In Vicente del Bosque's time there was Netzer,
who was a monumental 'galactico'. By the way, I do hope that term disappears
from Madridista vocabulary.
看到這一段,怎麼頗有涼意.....囧
Will Barcelona also be the main rival of the youth teams?
That would speak well of Barcelona's youth system. I am aware that the youth
system is to build players who will later be signed. I would rather lose
every youth system match if I can get my players to the first team.
