Real Madrid Launch €20 Million Offer For Lazio Left-Back Aleksandar Kolarov
Real Madrid are on the brink of signing Aleksandar Kolarov from Lazio,
according to Il Messaggero.
Recently-appointed Madrid boss Jose Mourinho has earmarked the Serbia
international as his top target for the left side of the defence as he
plans to mount a serious Champions League challenge next season.
Lazio are determined to keep hold of Kolarov, whom they signed from OFK
Beograd in 2007, but Madrid have not given up on their pursuit of the
24-year-old.
And Rome-based publication Il Messaggero suggests that Real Madrid last
night tabled a €20 million offer for the left-back, who is part of
Serbia's squad for the World Cup.
Earlier Lazio president Claudio Lotito indicated that €15m would not be
enough to prize Kolarov away from the Stadio Olimpico
Marseille left-back Taye Taiwo has been mooted as an alternative to
Kolarov if Madrid fail to land the Serbian.
