Player Ratings: Real Madrid 6-1 Deportivo La Coruna Iker Casillas 7.0 Didn't have much to do today but did well on two occasions in the second-half under greasy conditions. Sergio Ramos 7.0 Was at the heart of Higuain's goal. Didn't look extremely adventurous and appears to have assumed a more tempered role at right-back. Pepe 6.0 Could have given away a penalty but other than that didn't do any mistake. Of course, he was not exactly put under much pressure. Ricardo Carvalho 6.0 Could have cost his side a goal when he miscued a header near his penalty area. Wasn't tested much on other occasions. Marcelo 6.5 The Brazilian left-back pushed forward from the back, tried his luck too on some occasions with shot and played his team-mates well. A very encouraging performance from the youngster. Xabi Alonso 8.0 The deep-lying playmaker had a very good game and was at the heart of Higuain's goal and Ronaldo's second. Today the centre-midfield was allowed to play a more attacking role and he was sensationally good at that. Mesut Özil8.0 Had yet another productive match and even the Madrid fans saw that. It was his corner that Ronaldo headed home for his side and he himself scored. The Germany international expressed his imagination and creativity on other occasions when he ran into the box or brought his team-mates into play. Sami Khedira 5.5 Didn't inspire much confidence in the first-half because of which he was substituted at the break. Lost possession rather too easily. Ángel Fabián Di María 8.5 Scored a brilliant goal and set up one for Higuain. Could have added two more to his tally. His imagination and decisions on the flanks as well as runs into Depor's 18-yard-box were sound today; the Madrid fans are warming up to him as well. Cristiano Ronaldo 8.0 Scored two goals and played important roles in the other goals as well. Ronaldo didn't look at his best but he did appear very much a team-player as he passe the ball around with intelligence. The Portuguese even didn't take audacious shots at goal until his side were well and truly on their way to a victory. Gonzalo Gerardo Higuaín 8.0 Found the net from close range and provided two assists. Higuain had a good game today and was at the right place at the right time to receive and release passes. Lassana Diarra 6.5 Came on for Khedira at the start of the second-half and played better than the German had done in the first 45 minutes. Had an important role to play in Ronaldo's second goal. Fr.
