Kelly, the team's top pick (30th overall) in last month's First-Year Player Draft, will officially be introduced as part of the organization on Thursday during a 6:30 p.m. ET media conference call. The Sarasota (Fla.) High School standout will report to the Rookie League Gulf Coast Red Sox. Kelly was noted highly on Boston's Draft board for his abilities as a shortstop and as a pitcher. He hit .473 with five homers and 31 RBIs in 2008 and showed excellent range in the field. Meanwhile, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-hander went 8-1 with two saves and a 1.16 ERA on the hill.
