BOSTON -- According to CSNNE's Sean McAdam, the Red Sox will place outfielder J.D. Drew on the 15-day disabled list on Monday with a left shoulder impingement. The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo had first reported the DL as a possible landing spot for Drew earlier Sunday. Drew hasn't started a game since Tuesday, having been replaced as the regular right fielder by Josh Reddick over the past week. It's unclear when exactly Drew first injured his shoulder. It's been a trying campaign for the veteran, who is batting just .219 with six doubles all season. If Drew does in fact hit the disabled list on Monday, there's no obvious candidate to replace him on the roster. The only other outfielder on Boston's 40-man roster is Ryan Kalish, who has been out since April with shoulder and neck ailments. The Red Sox could call up utility player Drew Sutton, who has played both the infield and outfield for Pawtucket and Boston this season.
