Mark Melancon has been sent to Pawtucket
No surprise here, Mark Melancon has been optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Melancon had a 49.50 earned run average in four games. His line — 2 IP, 10
H, 11 R, 11 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 5 HR — was beyond ugly. Of the 18 batters he
faced, 12 got on base.
Melancon did not get an out on Tuesday night against Texas, giving up six
runs. The Rangers hit three home runs off him.
Perhaps in the minors, the 27-year-old can get himself together.

Junichi Tazawa has been recalled to replace Mark Melancon.
Tazawa has 0 ER in 7 innings w/9 Ks, 2 bb, 5 hits.
順帶一提:
Tazawa already was on the 40-man roster and has minor-league options
remaining, so he can be sent back to the PawSox if the Red Sox so choose once
Melancon straightens things out. The same could not be said for Andrew
Miller, who is out of minor-league options and who cannot be sent to
Pawtucket once activated from the disabled list.
