The third baseman joined Triple-A Pawtucket on Thursday. LaRoche, 28, played 46 games for Triple-A Columbus, hitting .234 with a .331 OBP, .372 slugging mark and .704 OPS, playing 30 games at third base and 10 more at shortstop. In 403 career big league games (most recently, two score with Oakland last year), he's a career .226/.305/.337/.642 hitter. "This looked like the best fit for me," LaRoche said of the decision to sign with the Sox. "I'm probably going to get the most playing time here."
