Reds Hall of Famer 廣播員 Marty Brennaman之子
Thom Brennaman昨天與Reds球團招開記者會正式宣布將要返回
他的故鄉 Cincinnati 擔任廣播員
他與Reds簽下四年的合約,明年將轉撥90場
45場Radio,45場TV
他的Fox Saturday game的主播位置仍在
他將與他的父親Marty聯手轉撥45場比賽,這將是第五組大聯盟史上第五對父子檔廣播員
另外四組
Jack and Joe Buck (St. Louis),
Harry, Skip and Chip Carey (Chicago),
Chad and Sid Hartman (Minnesota),
and Harry and Todd Kalas (Philadelphia).
他並不是頂著父親的光環回到這個位置
他的轉播功力堅強,是個全國網的等級
(他除了是D-backs創隊之史至今年的廣播員,在D-backs之前也轉播過Cubs五年的比賽
此外眾所皆知的Fox全國網的周六比賽台柱
還有目前的Fox的NFL game,還有NCAA BCS盃賽的轉播
另外明年NCAA football全國冠軍賽他也要擔任主播的位置)
也要感謝D-backs在Thom仍有三年約的情況下放手讓他返回家鄉

也為Reds HOF 廣播員找到他未來的繼承人
也因為他只轉撥45場廣播比賽
Marty的老搭檔Joe Nuxell也將依往例轉撥部分比賽,20場是可以期待的
因此Reds將要尋找第四人進入轉播棚
Reds傾向找回一個前Reds選手進轉播棚
目前小道消息指出很有可能是目前ESPN的棒球分析員Jeff Brantley是那位人選
若是他的話,在季後賽結束後才會明朗,目前ESPN當然不可能放人
我知道這則新聞對身在台灣的版友來說無關痛癢
但是Reds廣播對Cincinnati當地的球迷有著非比尋常的意義
這消息對城市是超級大消息,Marty年紀也大了,現在找到一個
與他功力匹配的廣播員,Local長大,而且還是他的兒子
全國級的主播,對城市來說是個可以稍稍平撫這個令人傷痛球季的落寞
而開始對未來有了一個期待
以下是他的關鍵談話在昨天的記者會
"This is a town that I love and care about more than you could ever know,"
said Thom, who is a graduate of Anderson High School and Ohio University.
"Whether I was in Chicago or Phoenix or parts in between,
I can tell you what's going on with Anderson High School football.
I can tell Colerain and St. X are going to play a hell of a game sometime
this fall. ... And I can tell you the Buckeyes are on their way to playing
in Glendale (in the college football national championship game) on Jan. 8.
"I love Cincinnati. I'm proud to be from here, and I'm proud to be back."
