Non-tender possibilities: IF Andy Phillips, RHP Matt Belisle, Jolbert Cabrera CATCHER Ryan Hanigan, .271, two home runs, nine RBIs Wilkin Castillo, .281, 0 home runs, one RBI After he batted .324 in Triple-A, Hanigan looked good after getting an extended look late in the season. If they're not satisfied that Hanigan could play everyday in the Majors, the Reds likely would explore trade and free-agent options to get an upgrade. Castillo, acquired in the Dunn trade, did not appear at catcher for the Reds but that's his primary position. Entering the final year of a three-year, $14 million contract in 2009, his defensive skills still make him the favorite to be the regular shortstop. Keppinger was a very capable replacement for Gonzalez but missed 36 games in May and June with a fractured left knee cap. Before the injury, he was the team's hottest hitter while batting .324, but those numbers fell after he returned. Keppinger likely will have a utility role but could step in and play every day again if needed. A.Gonzalez雖不是頂級SS，但加減用用還可以，Keppinger的守備一流但也是傷勢不斷， Janish剛上大聯盟的幾場還滿令人驚艷的，但後期似乎適應不良(?)，不知是否Reds對於 SS是否有補強的計畫。 THIRD BASE Edwin Encarnacion, .251 BA, 26 home runs, 68 RBIs Adam Rosales, .207 BA, 0 home runs, 2 RBIs Encarnacion was inconsistent at times and wasn't as strong in clutch situations like the past two years. But he still established a new career-high in home runs and games played. Throwing mistakes still make him questionable defensively. 守備對E.Encarnacion來說仍然是個大問題，選球方面也有待加強，不過仍然是個值得期待的選手。 OUTFIELD Jay Bruce, .254 BA, 21 home runs, 52 RBIs Chris Dickerson, .304 BA, six home runs, 15 RBIs Ryan Freel, .298 BA, 0 home runs, 10 RBIs Norris Hopper, .200 BA, 0 home runs, one RBI Drew Stubbs, .277 BA seven home runs, 57 RBIs (A/AA/AAA) With the exception of Bruce in right field, lots of questions remain with the other two spots. Expect the Reds to try to get some help in this area. Dickerson played well once called up and exceeded expectations, but durability could be an issue since he's had several surgeries already in his young career, including a minor ankle procedure this week. The injury prone Freel (torn hamstring tendon) was felled by injuries for the second straight year. Hopper (right elbow surgery) was a nice emergence in 2007 but was not able to break into the lineup much before his injury. 外野手的問題目前看來十分棘手，只有J.Bruce大概是確定的人選，有謠傳提到Reds可能會網羅M.Holliday，但錢可能不夠用，也有人說是M.Ordonez但年齡問題與合約問題也是個麻煩。Dickerson表現的不錯，可以試試看，Freel傷勢復原情形不明。Reds確定下一季將補進一個大砲型右打者，希望是補在外野的區域。 ROTATION RHP Edinson Volquez, 17-6, 3.21 ERA, 196 innings, 206 strikeouts RHP Aaron Harang, 6-17, 4.78 ERA, 184 1/3 innings, 151 strikeouts RHP Bronson Arroyo, 15-11, 4.77 ERA, 200 innings RHP Johnny Cueto, 9-14, 4.81 ERA, 174 innings, 158 strikeouts RHP Micah Owings, 6-9, 5.93 ERA (with Arizona), .304 BA RHP Ramon Ramirez, 1-1, 2.67 ERA RHP Homer Bailey, 0-6, 7.93 ERA RHP Daryl Thompson, 0-2, 6.91 ERA LHP Matt Maloney, 11-5, 4.68 ERA (AAA) LHP Bobby Livingston, 7-6, 4.63 ERA (GCL/A/AAA) This could be one of the deepest pools of starters the Reds have had in years, especially if Harang can rebound from a rough 2008 and Arroyo can continue his strong last two-thirds of this season. Volquez and Cueto will have an important first full year of experience under their belts. Owings started out blistering hot for the Diamondbacks this season before hitting hard times and getting hurt. Next spring will be critical for Bailey to prove he is more prospect than suspect. SP這一塊對Reds來說明年非常令人期待，Harang-Volquez-Arroyo-Cueto 已經幾乎確定組成輪值表的前四人了，第五人是否由Owings擔任目前還不明朗，畢竟萬眾矚目的Bailey 還是被寄予厚望，R.Ramirez的表現又令人十分驚艷，明年的先發投手群希望會令Reds迷刮目相看，不過非常令人擔心的是先發輪值表裏都沒有左投手，對上左打部隊應該會吃不少虧，這點值得注意。 BULLPEN RHP Francisco Cordero, 5-4, 3.33 ERA, 34 saves RHP Jared Burton, 5-1, 3.22 ERA LHP Bill Bray, 2-2, 2.87 ERA RHP Nick Masset, 1-0, 2.08 ERA RHP Gary Majewski, 1-0, 6.53 ERA RHP Josh Roenicke, 0-0, 9.00 ERA LHP Daniel Ray Herrera, 0-0, 7.36 ERA The Reds' bullpen was one of the team's strengths and one of the National League's best in 2008. An effort should be made to bring back veteran David Weathers in a setup role. But Cordero, Burton and Bray do form a dependable back end for the late innings.
