[情報] Del Rosario, Ondrusek up for Lincoln, Fisher
ST. LOUIS -- The Reds made two roster moves that added help to a worn down
bullpen.
Right-handed reliever Mike Lincoln was placed on the 15-day disabled list
with a strained muscle in his right side. Another right-hander, Carlos Fisher
was optioned to Triple-A Louisville.
To take their place on the 25-man roster, right-handed relievers Enerio Del
Rosario and Logan Ondrusek were recalled from Louisville.
Over his last six outings, Lincoln had allowed 12 runs over his last 7 2/3
innings. His overall ERA was 7.32 with four of his nine inherited runners
scoring. Apparently, it was an injury that has nagged Lincoln for a while. He
also missed of last season to have neck surgery and also missed almost four
years with elbow problems.
"He doesn't complain, alibi or cry about anything," Reds manager Dusty Baker
said. "Last year, he had that neck problem. He had been on the DL so much in
his career, that's the last thing he wanted to do. When he gets healthy, he
still has good stuff."
Fisher had a 9.82 ERA in 11 games and was charged with four runs in Monday's
12-4 loss to the Cardinals. Lincoln gave up three of those inherited runs
from Fisher plus one of his own.
"Fish had flashes of brilliance for us, Baker said. "He's got to go down and
work on throwing consistent strikes with his fastball and breaking ball. He
has the stuff. It's just a matter of getting consistent with his release
point and throwing strikes."
Del Rosario pitched one inning in two appearances for the Reds last week and
was optioned back to Louisville on May 28. He was allowed to return before
the 10-day minimum rule because of Lincoln's injury.
Ondrusek began the season in the big leagues and posted an 11.12 ERA in nine
games before being sent down on April 22. He was 0-1 with a 4.12 ERA in 14
games for the Bats with 21 hits and nine earned runs allowed over 19 2/3
innings. He believed the necessary adjustments were made.
"It's just making sure I'm locating the fastball early, and getting ahead,"
Ondrusek said. "That's the big thing where I got hurt here. I was falling
behind and having to throw more over the plate. Guys just started crushing
me."
