直接從Enquirer.com搬來全文囉~ ----------正文開始---------- After the Reds and the rest of the league protected prospects from the Rule 5 Draft last month, the next roster deadline arrives Monday night. Teams will decide whether to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players for the upcoming season. The Reds made an early decision on Derek Dietrich when they removed him from the 40-man roster in early November. Dietrich, who was projected to command a $3.1 million salary for the 2020 season, was sent to the minor leagues and elected free agency. Nearing Monday’s deadline, the Reds are expected to have eight arbitration-eligible players: Trevor Bauer, Kevin Gausman, Anthony DeSclafani, Michael Lorenzen, José Peraza, Curt Casali, Travis Jankowski and Matt Bowman. Bauer, Gausman and DeSclafani will become free agents after the 2020 season, though Gausman and Peraza probably the top non-tender candidates. 1. RHP Trevor Bauer (Projected salary via MLB Trade Rumors is $18.6 million) Bauer struggled in his two months with the Reds, but he will be one of the highest-paid players through the arbitration process this offseason. Bauer has thrown more than 175 innings in each of the past five years and remains one of the top strikeout pitchers in the league. The Reds added him at the trade deadline to give them an elite starting rotation – at least on paper – for the 2020 season. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Bauer take the Reds to arbitration. Teams typically agree to settlements with players, but Bauer won arbitration hearings against the Cleveland Indians in 2018 and 2019. 2. RHP Kevin Gausman ($10.6 million) Claimed off waivers in August, Gausman impressed during his short stint as a reliever. His strikeout rate went up as he threw his splitter more often. The problem for the Reds is that it’s rare to see teams pay more than $10 million for relievers who aren’t closers. Unless the Reds plan to give Gausman a chance as a starting pitcher, or they can rework his contract, it’s expected that he will be non-tendered, which will make him a free agent. Gausman was a starter for essentially his entire career and there may be a few teams that want to add him to their rotation. The Reds could choose to spend the $10 million toward a different starting pitcher too. 3. RHP Anthony DeSclafani ($5.2 million) Healthy for an entire year for the first time since 2015, DeSclafani had a strong second half with a 3.49 ERA in his final 14 starts. He improved against left-handed hitters, which made him a more effective pitcher. The Reds will slot him into the rotation with Sonny Gray, Luis Castillo and Bauer. 4. RHP/CF Michael Lorenzen ($4.2 million) The biggest question surrounding Lorenzen is how he will be utilized next year. He received most of his two-way playing opportunities in September, playing 89 innings in the outfield and taking 48 at-bats. Active rosters are expected to expand to 26 players next year, but Lorenzen provides value as an extra runner and outfielder on the bench. As a pitcher, Lorenzen had his best year with a 2.92 ERA and 85 strikeouts in 83 1/3 innings. He primarily pitched as a setup man in the second half of the season. 5. IF Jose Peraza ($3.6 million) Peraza presents a tough decision for the Reds. He struggled with inconsistent playing time this year (.631 on-base plus slugging percentage in 141 games) and he was demoted to Triple-A Louisville in August. But he’s only 25 years old and the Reds have seen what he can do at his best when he had a .742 OPS with a team-high 182 hits in 2018. If the Reds tender a contract to Peraza, he will likely compete for playing time at second base with Josh VanMeter, Kyle Farmer and Alex Blandino. If the Reds add a shortstop during the offseason, Freddy Galvis will be added to the competition. 6. C Curt Casali ($1.7 million) Casali worked well with the pitching staff as the staff made major strides during the 2019 season. At the plate, Casali hit .251 with eight homers and 32 RBI in 84 games. The Reds reportedly have interest in free-agent catcher Robinson Chirinos, which could force the club to make changes with Casali or Tucker Barnhart. 7. OF Travis Jankowski ($1.2 million) The Reds claimed Jankowski off waivers from the San Diego Padres on Oct. 31. He's a solid defender who can play all three outfield positions and he's shown his speed with 24 stolen bases in 2018 and 30 stolen bases in 2016. Jankowski worked with new Reds hitting coach Alan Zinter in San Diego 8. RHP Matt Bowman ($900,000) Bowman is expected to have one minor league option season remaining entering the upcoming year, which gives him more value as a reliever. He made 27 appearances during the 2019 season with a 3.66 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 32 innings. The Reds claimed him off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals last year.
