HOUSTON -- The Rockets revealed Tuesday that Anthony Nila has been promoted to equipment manager. Nila, who is in his 15th year with the organization, began his new role during the 2007 NBA Summer League. Nila served as assistant equipment manager for the Rockets beginning with the 2000-01 campaign. In addition to his work with the Rockets, Nila served six seasons as equipment manager for the WNBA's Houston Comets. Nila's responsibilities with the Comets included ordering and maintaining all of the team's equipment, as well as assisting with team travel while on the road. Nila attended Elsik High School in Houston and spent seven years of his youth as a Rockets ball kid. Nila had the opportunity to join the Rockets during both championships in New York and Orlando.
