Yahoo had another Tracy McGrady mention. It was brief, saying that the Rockets are shopping him, though his contract makes it unlikely he will be dealt. The item also said that Rick Adelman and Daryl Morey don't want him back. On the Rockets being willing to move McGrady for a longer contract, regular readers here are probably sick of seeing that over and over again, especially with the qualifier that it is unlikely. We've been talking since last June about the potential for someone to be attracted to his expiring contract and plentiful talks about a deal. For that to work, the Rockets would have to take back a longer contract. No one deals an expiring contract just to get an expiring contract. More to the point of the Rockets, they have been pretty clear that they would much rather make a significant move with a trade than to wait to use their post-McGrady cap space. As far as Adelman and Morey not wanting McGrady back at all, they deny that all the time, insisting that Adelman needs to see McGrady play at a level to improve the team. It's not complicated. He wants to get back to his best in games, they want him to get there in practice.
