Argentina will play the final against Puerto Rico at 21:00 and Brazil plays Paraguay for third place at 19:00. Both teams, that played in the final of the South American Championship where Brazil won 87-77, came in with two different rosters. Argentina came in with the team that is already practicing for the FIBA World Championship while Brazil has their best team training in Rio and brought the South American Championship team. Luis Scola netted 30 points, Carlos Delfino 20 and Fabricio Oberto 15 with 9 rebounds to guide the Argentineans to an impressive win in their first friendly game prior to the FIBA World Championship. The offense by Scola was key in the first quarter with 8 points as the hosts won 27-18. In the second quarter the defense by Argentina improved and kept their production inside to dominate 46-30 as Scola had 18 and Delfino 11. In the second half the Argentineans started to make their long range shots while the Brazilians couldn't come back as they had 21 turnovers and shot 33% from the field. Arthur Belchior was the only Brazilian scorer in double figures with 10 points.
