Drew was not retained by the Hawks this past season even though he helped lead them to the playoffs. He now will assume duties of another Eastern Conference playoff team in Milwaukee. Sampson was one of two finalists for the job along with Drew. He had been a Bucks assistant coach prior to coming to Houston. Those organizational ties had some thinking of Sampson as a leading candidate.
