Handles pitchers well and has run-production bat. * Next in line Yorvit Torrealba: Has fallen behind Iannetta but gives Rockies a quality receiver with an inconsistent bat that does show power. * On hold Edwin Bellorin: Figures to be at Triple-A for a third year. Needs more energy and drive when he gets big-league look. Sal Fasano: Veteran receiver who can develop young pitchers. Bad body, clogs up a lineup. * On tap Mike McKenry: Quality defense added breakthrough offensive effort at Double-A in 2007. Hurdle's view "Our catching tandem is as good as any tandem in the National League. Iannetta took a major step forward last year. He has very good skills, both behind the plate and at the plate. He's going to become a legitimate threat in the lineup. "Torrealba was the guy until Chris developed so quickly. He has shown he can handle a staff in a pennant race, and with Chris attending the (World Baseball Classic), Torrealba is going to get a chance to hone his game this spring." Bottom line Iannetta is the first complete catcher the Rockies have had, and he should get better. The Rockies would have liked to have moved Torrealba, but his $4 million guarantee scared teams away. Keeping Torrealba focused could be a challenge. He made it clear in the final weeks last season he didn't like a backup role. Now the Rockies don't have an alternative if they move Torrealba.
