Andy received his second consecutive ESPY nomination on Friday for Best Male
Tennis Player. He won this category last year and was even able to attend the
awards in Los Angeles despite his demanding summer schedule.
Similar to on the court, Andy faces some stiff competition for this year’s
award. Fellow nominees are Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Marat Safin. You
can vote for Andy by following the link below.
This year’s awards will be hosted by Matthew Perry. Perry is an avid tennis
player and played competitively as a teen in Canada, earning the rank of
No. 17 nationally in the junior singles category and No. 3 in the doubles
competition.
You can watch the star-studded show on ESPN on Sunday, July 17 at 9 p.m. ET.
The actual ceremony will be taped four days earlier, July 13th at the Kodak
Theater in Hollywood.
The ESPY Awards were created by ESPN in 1993 and are presented for Excellence
in Sports Performance Yearly. Winners are determined by online voting
beginning Friday, June 24th.
