[情報] Appier ready to go
The green light is on for Kevin Appier.
Appier is expected to start Saturday night against the Minnesota Twins at
the Metrodome.
He passed his final on-field test Monday night at Wichita, where he pitched
6 1/3 innings for the Wranglers in a Double-A game against Arkansas. Pitching
in 42 degrees with winds whipping at 15 to 20 mph, Appier gave up four hits
and two runs. He threw 80 pitches, walking two with two wild pitches and one
strikeout.
Appier has experienced no problems with his right elbow where surgery was
performed last Sept. 2 to repair the flexor tendon. The original target date
for his return was May 1 but he progressed faster than expected.
