1. Jose Lima, RHP
Lima brings energy and experience to a young staff. If he keeps changing
speeds deftly and maintains his fastball velocity, he should eat a lot of
innings.
2. Runelvys Hernandez, RHP
Back after a lost season, he shows evidence of becoming the pitcher he was in
April 2003. A real horse, he could become the staff's ace by season's end.
3. Zack Greinke, RHP
After showing excellent command, everything from 95-mph fastballs to 62-mph
curves, plus great poise as a rookie, Greinke has unlimited potential.
4. Brian Anderson LHP
His mechanics radically revised, Anderson has become a different pitcher.
That's been welcomed, and there's hope he can reverse his 6-12 record from
2004.
5. Denny Bautista, RHP
A hard-throwing rookie, Bautista must maintain command. He'll get his strikeouts
but needs to keep his walk total down and his pitches low in the
zone
