[新聞] Chen, Francis on the free-agent market
KANSAS CITY -- Pitchers Bruce Chen and Jeff Francis, two parts of the Royals'
2011 rotation, declared for free agency, the club announced on Sunday.
Catcher Jason Kendall, who missed all of last season and is also doubtful for
2012 because of shoulder surgery, also became a free agent at the late
Saturday night deadline.
All of the moves, which leave the Royals' 40-man roster at 38, were expected.
Kendall also was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list.
Teams have exclusive rights to negotiate with their own free agents until
11:01 p.m. CT on Wednesday night.
