Bryan’s high school The Woodlands is one of the most heralded high school
programs in Texas producing draftpicks Kyle Drabek, Paul Goldschmidt, Jameson
Taillon and fellow Royal prospect Brett Eibner recently among others.

Kyle was selected the Big School 4A-6A Player of the Year in Palm Beach
County after going 9-1 with a 0.40 ERA leading his team to a semifinal
playoff run. Smith struckout 116 in 69 innings while walking just 14 on the
season despite playing in one of the toughest districts in all of Florida.
