[新聞] Eric Skoglund has a UCL sprain
Royals left-handed starter Eric Skoglund has a sprain of his left ulnar collateral ligament (UCL),ccording to Rustin Dodd ofhe Athletic. A UCL sprain is the injury typically associated with Tommy John surgery. There is no indication yet that Skoglund will need surgery. He has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, with reliever Eric Stout replacing him on the active roster for now.
The 25-year old Skoglund had a 6.70 ERA in nine starts for the Royals with 7.1 strikeouts and 2.5 walks-per-nine-innings. He gave up six runs in less than five innings of work on Friday against the Rangers. He could be replaced in the rotation by Trevor Oaks, who started for Omaha last night, although Brad Keller could move into the rotation.
