http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/rugby_union/english/4349915.stm Tuesday, 15 March, 2005, 09:07 GMT Wilkinson facing Lions struggle Jonny Wilkinson has not given up hope of making this summer's Lions tour. The Newcastle fly-half suffered another knee injury in his comeback game and may now not be fit for the squad announcement on 11 April. "That's four injuries in a row and I've not completed either of the last two games I've played," he told the Times. "I know doubts over the Lions tour escalate. I've just got to dig my heels in and maybe if I can be fit around then, maybe I can still have a shout." But the 25-year-old admitted it was hard to take his latest injury blow. "The uncertainty is back," he said. "I've got to make sure that if I stand a chance of making the tour, that I'm ready to take it." A scan has revealed that Wilkinson suffered another medial ligament problem with the left knee he damaged against Perpignan in January. However he will have to wait for the new injury to settle down before finding out how long he will spend on the sidelines. "The initial reports show that it is not as bad as I had feared," he added. "I'm obviously hoping that it's not as bad as last time. I know I haven't been in as much pain or discomfort. "What I'm hoping is that I'll be able to get moving again quickly. It could even be that this is something to do with the scarring from the previous injury. "The best result, it seems, is that I can try to pick up my rehab from halfway through where it was before and then move towards not missing too many more games. Last time I took nine weeks." The 25-year-old has not played Test rugby since kicking England to World Cup glory in November 2003. He was sidelined for eight months last year while he recovered from a serious neck and shoulder problem. Two months into his return he suffered a bicep injury which meant another eight weeks on the sidelines while England played the autumn internationals. He had then only been back in action for a month when he was hit by the first of his knee injuries against Perpignan. "I've got no other choice but try to be positive," he said. "I couldn't have had better rehab. I waited longer than I had to for my comeback and I passed every test I was given. "I also understand that being positive mentally accelerates the rate of recovery." -- 或許再也看不到他打球了吧... -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.165.194.225
