05/17/2006 10:42 PM ET Giants back Morris in sweep of Astros Righty goes eight strong innings; Durham drives in four By Gene Duffey / Special to MLB.com HOUSTON -- Who needs Barry Bonds? Even with the San Francisco slugger taking a day off, the Giants continued to beat up Houston on Wednesday night. Ray Durham hit a three-run homer and the Giants swept the three-game series with a 10-1 verdict before 36,327 at Minute Maid Park. San Francisco is 20-5 all-time at Minute Maid Park since it opened in 2000. Right-hander Matt Morris, who had two hits himself, threw eight innings to improve to 3-4. He retired 14 in a row beginning with one out in the third before Adam Everett reached on an error to start the eighth. Morris allowed only three hits, none after the third inning. The Giants scored a total of seven runs in the first inning Monday and Tuesday and scored two more in the first Wednesday. Randy Winn and Omar Vizquel opened the game with walks from Houston rookie right-hander Fernando Nieve (1-2). Durham singled in one run and Mark Sweeney drove in another with a fielder's choice. Sweeney made it 3-1 when he singled in Vizquel in the third. Durham hit his three-run shot, 420 feet on a 1-1 pitch, in the fourth, and Pedro Feliz singled in the fourth run of the inning for a 7-1 lead. Feliz hit a two-run homer in the eighth, his ninth of the season. San Francisco outscored Houston 34-5 in the series. Gene Duffey is a contributor to MLB.com.
