今天San Francisco Chronicle這則報導標題很聳動球季都還沒結束記者就去問Timmy續約的問題印象中我從沒看過一個職業運動員敢說因為自己不想背負長約背後的莫名期待所以不打算跟球隊簽長約... (還是說Timmy你只是不想跟「巨人」簽長約...= =) 只能說這傢伙如果不是腦袋燒壞就是他X的天才...XD 以下是報導全文-- Contract talks with Tim Lincecum might be Job One for the Giants this winter, and though Lincecum said he would listen to whatever the team has to say, he told The Chronicle on Thursday he is not keen on locking himself into a long-term deal that would buy out future free-agent years. In one bit of good news for Freak fans, Lincecum said his criminal lack of run support in San Francisco will not factor into his thinking. "I don't think it has to do with the offense," Lincecum said when told that San Francisco fans fear he and Matt Cain will bolt to teams that score more runs. Cain can file for free agency after next season. "I just don't know how I'm going to feel five years from now, or three years. That's why I'd kind of like to take things step by step and why I liked the deal I got last year." Lincecum is completing a $23 million contract that covered the first two of his four arbitration seasons. Given his durability, especially now that he has embraced a proper fitness regimen, the Giants might be interested in signing Lincecum for more than two years to ensure he does not leave when he is eligible for free agency after 2013. "It's just easier for me mentally not to have to put that kind of pressure on yourself," he said. "Not that you don't want to succeed, but when you're signed to a long-term deal, it's like saying, 'I'm going to live up to every expectation.' "That's why I like going year to year, so I can improve on it and not sit on what I've done." Asked if he would be open to another two-year deal, covering his final two arbitration years, Lincecum said, "Yeah. Definitely." Still, Lincecum said he will stay open-minded when the Giants approach him to talk turkey this winter. "It all depends on how they come after me," he said. "If it's aggressive, obviously I want to take that into consideration and talk about it with my agent and see what he thinks is good. ********************************************************************** 以下是我個人的淺見：仔細的咀嚼了這些話的涵義之後，我真的要說-- Timmy不只投球犀利，腦袋更是聰明得可怕(這絕對不是溺愛...XD) 他的話點破了我(應該也是很多人)心中一直以來想當然爾的盲點身為一個職業運動員的目標，難道就只是為了追求一份天價的長約!? 依常理，運動員的價值應該是和年齡成反比更別提還有受傷這個X因子但放眼大聯盟那些拿到超級肥約的自由球員幾乎都是在生涯顛峰期的好表現所以拿到大約結果不是一簽長約就開始走下坡(巨人隊自己就有個活生生血淋淋的例子...) 不然就是動輒得咎一點小低潮小出槌，就被媒體批到死，鄉民酸到爆(東岸火星聯盟最多這種Case) 與其拼死拼活換來(騙來!?)一張大肥約之後在剩下的歲月裡都要背負著這副枷鎖綁手綁腳像Timmy這樣只打算和球團一年一簽或兩年一簽既不為難球團非得打破豬公傾家蕩產只為長期綁住一個明星球員也能鞭策自己時時為爭取來年更高的薪水而努力表現應該會是雙贏的局面還記得Timmy在去年和巨人簽下兩年2300萬的合約之後說了下面這段話： "My friends are telling me my life's going to be insane. But just because you make money dosen't mean you have to spend it.There are a lot of people who have money who still live frugally." 我看到這段話的那一刻，就確信這小子有自己的想法，不會因為金錢迷失自己而今天更讓我不得不佩服年輕的Timmy能有這樣超越常人惰性(領長期飯票等退休)的思惟如果他願意留在巨人繼續打拼，那很好就算他離開了，我也會祝福他能一直有好的表現直到看見他走進名人堂的那一天 ※ 編輯: akiralee 來自: 114.39.48.164 (09/24 01:08)
