Q. At this stage of the tournament where, obviously, you've gotten used to the conditions over the first two rounds, now you're looking at getting into the business end of the tournament. How nice is it to have a relatively comfortable win like that? ANA IVANOVIC: It's an amazing feeling, and especially, she's a young girl, up coming. She played some good tennis. She won a lot of matches. So I knew it will be tough match. But she's a good player, and I was a little bit nervous today. And I had to work for points, because I didn't feel as comfortable there as the other two matches I played. So my serve was not working as well as it was last match. So, yeah, as I said, I had to work hard for it. But I'm really happy I could win this match. Q. And still feeling good physically? ANA IVANOVIC: Yes. Yeah, very good. Obviously, today was a little bit also nervous, so I was probably not moving as well. ^ I had small steps. But yeah that's matches you need to get through, and I'm happy about that. So hopefully tomorrow will be better. Q. What did you expect from this tournament? Do you think you can go farther than two years ago when you went to the quarterfinals? ANA IVANOVIC: Well, it's obviously every tournament I play I want to win. But it's hard to talk about that at the moment. I still haven't reached the semifinal for Grand Slam. So it's important to take it step by step. And, I mean, there is no easier opponent especially reaching fourth round. Any player who reaches that, is very good, and it's going to be a tough match. So, yeah, I just want to enjoy out there and play the best I can. And, as I said, I feel very good on the courts, so that's important. Q. This is the best three rounds I would think you've had to start a Grand Slam. You've only lost a few games, so just talk about why that's happening. Is it just more experience, knowing how to play certain opponents, or is it more your level? ANA IVANOVIC: Well, I think also getting confidence, winning Berlin, it helps a lot. And I feel I had really good preparation before coming here, and I feel more comfortable playing on the clay also. My movement is much better, so I think they're all little parts that has something to do with it. Obviously, yeah, getting in there, I wanted to take my time and take it match by match and enjoy it. I work really good so far, and that's the way I feel I can improve, just taking it step by step. And, yeah, as I said, there is no easy opponent. Q. Your level is obviously very good. So going into the next week, how much of your results will be based on mental, and how much will it just be strokes and physical? ANA IVANOVIC: I think, especially getting into a second week, it's lot of mental strength as well. And that's also a part I feel I improved over last couple of weeks and months. So I feel more confident, and that's going to help me, my game, as well. And also I think I take more time between points to focus on what I have to do. And, yeah, just basically play automatic and play the way I can. Q. Is this because you're maturing, or is part of this because you're working with ^ Sven, and the coach, and it seems to be going well, he's telling you things that maybe you didn't hear before? ANA IVANOVIC: I think there's many, many parts of it that can make a complete different result. It's also I work very hard in Barcelona, and I had good days. And I feel fit, so that helps as well. And also winning more matches, getting more confidence, and playing more consistent, and those are all the little parts that make difference. And at the moment I feel very good about my situation, and Sven is helping me a lot. Obviously, I'm not going to play against him as a player. But i realize he's a great coach, very good experience. So those are all things which I need in order to reach my goals. Q. Is there a chance your arrangement with him might be extended, or is it still very temporary? ANA IVANOVIC: Well, just recently we spoke again. He's going to continue helping me. But he also works for others, so he's going to help other players as well. But when he has some time, sure, he's going to help me. Because it's been really good, and I enjoy working with him. I think he also enjoys helping me, so that's a very good situation to have. Q. He'll be there in Wimbledon? ANA IVANOVIC: Yes, he will be there. Q. You're friends with Djokovic, yeah? ANA IVANOVIC: Yes. Q. Has his success helped you? I mean, have you guys fed off each other, do you think? ANA IVANOVIC: Yeah, for sure. It's great to see him doing so well. And I was saying, watching him, I can learn a lot. And I can also -- because I know him for such a long time, I can see the way he improved. He got mature, and his game changed. And I can take some positive things watching him and some of his tricks on the court, and I can use it for my game and trying to improve. Because, obviously, men's tennis is a little bit different than women's. Yeah, I can use some of his tricks. Q. Do you watch Jelena, and do you get anything from her and her success in the last year? ANA IVANOVIC: I prefer to watch men's tennis. I think we can learn a lot from it. So, yeah, I -- I prefer to watch men. Q. Why is that in particular? ANA IVANOVIC: Because I think men, they're playing really good and we can learn a lot, especially on the clay. They play so many rallies, and they play with a lot of speed. I think women's sometimes can play more powerful but more flatter. So, I think, tactical-wise I think we can learn more from men. Q. Are you trying to hit with more spin, you had a very flat forehand, you still do. But I remember when you were younger, it was very flat? ANA IVANOVIC: But I think it's important to mix up and also -- with -- hitting with more speed you have less pressure on yourself to hit a good shot. Also I was practicing a lot with guys, and they hit quite a lot of spin down there. So, I think, that will help me with the change a little bit. Q. You've beaten all the other favorites on your side of the draw. You beat Maria, you've beaten Mauresmo, Kuznetsova. Is it fair to say you're one of the favorites on the draw? Can you think that? ANA IVANOVIC: I don't think that way. I just want to enjoy the match. And, obviously, I think at the moment in women's tennis there is not one person that you can say, Oh, I can beat her. Everything is open. It just depends at the time, the day, who is playing better tennis. Obviously, seeing that and seeing that I, as you said I beat most of them, it's amazing feeling to see that actually I can be one of the players competing for a title. Q. What are your Fed Cup plans? ANA IVANOVIC: It's still in negotiation. And, as I said, I would really like to play for my country. This is amazing feeling, and I think, we can have a place in the world group. And we have unbelievable team. So it would be great to play. But, as I said, each tournament I represent my country, and I try to do it in best possible way. And we will see what happens. Q. Jelena was talking yesterday how she smiles on court. She likes to laugh. It takes pressure off and, it just helps her. A lot of people think tennis players take it all so seriously. What's your view on that? Do you like to have fun out there? ANA IVANOVIC: Each match I play, I try to have fun and try to enjoy. And I think it's important to focus on what you have to do, you know. And, just, if you smile, it comes naturally. And, you know, you can't think about it or force it. It's just the way it goes. But I think when you are out there, it's most important to focus on your game, and then you have fun. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 59.105.91.251
