Foot Problems for Iguodala

Andre Iguodala has had to add a new wrinkle to his practice and pregame
routine: time in the training room.
Iguodala admitted after Monday’s shootaround that for the past three weeks
he has been dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot and because of
over compensation, his left foot is now bothering him.
Plantar fasciitis can be very painful because it involves inflammation of a
thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot connecting the
heel bone to the toes. Two nights ago when the Sixers lost to the Bulls, I
asked Iguodala if he felt mentally and/or physically challenged right now
with his team just 24-46 on the year.
“It’s a little bit of both,” Iguodala said. “I am fighting through some
things and that is keeping me from doing my normal things at a shootaround or
practice that I can’t do that I used to do and I can’t get all my reps up.
But I just have to play through it. I will be alright.”
Iguodala this month is shooting 39 percent from the floor and less then 12
percent from three-point range. He has played and started in all 70 games
this year and missed only six games in his six-year career.
While Iguodala will continue to play through his pain, Lou Williams will be
out tonight because of back spasms, and Thaddeus Young will miss his fourth
straight games because of a fractured right thumb.
