David Ferrer (ESP)[15] def Jeremy Chardy (FRA) 6-1 6-4 3-6 6-1 Day 6 - An interview with David Ferrer Friday, June 2, 2006 Q. This confirms a good season. You're in the third round in Paris. What does that mean for you? DAVID FERRER: I'm very happy because it's not easy to win matches here in Paris. It probably means that I'm playing well. But you've got to go one step at a time. You have to play each point when I play tomorrow. Q. How do you see yourself? What are your expectations? DAVID FERRER: Well, fine. I think I'm playing very well. I'm feeling fine physically and also mentally. As to my expectations, well, nothing in particular. You know, it's what I always say. I have to play each match, each point, give my all. I know there are good matches and other matches where you don't play so well, but I'll give my all. Q. Can you see a favorite? Do you think there are only two favorites? DAVID FERRER: Well, a favorite, Rafa most certainly. Nobody can deny he's a favorite. It's more or less the same last year. He's very good on clay. Very difficult to beat. Q. You're going to play against Ruben. You're both from Alicante. DAVID FERRER: Yes, great. Ruben and I are good friends. We both come from the same region. We're going to enjoy the match, but it is a match, one more match in this tournament. We'll have to play it even if we're friends. Alicante. Q. In Alicante, do you meet and train together? DAVID FERRER: I live in Valencia. We don't live in the same region. We do talk to each other. I live in Valencia. Don't see that much of each other. Q. In terms of the matches you've played against each other? DAVID FERRER: Well, I think last time was four years ago or so. It was a long time ago. Q. Ruben is one of the Spanish players moving up in the rankings. Is that surprising for you? DAVID FERRER: No, he was already No. 60. It didn't surprise me. He's at a good level. This is a player who is probably difficult to beat. He's very resilient and he plays every single point. Q. Do you prefer this weather, sunshine and heat? DAVID FERRER: Yes, definitely. It's much better. But each match is different. Today I was serving well. It's okay. When you're playing a Spaniard, it doesn't really matter. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.119.128.212
