Nadal set for pre-Wimbledon match
Newly-crowned Queen's champion Rafael Nadal will play one final match on
grass before competing at Wimbledon.
The world number two will play Marat Safin in an exhibition match at the
Fortis Tennis Classic on Friday at the Hurlingham Club in south west London.
Nadal took the Artois title with a 7-6 (8-6) 7-5 win over Novak Djokovic
seven days after winning the French Open.
"I'm a little bit tired but I think with a few days' rest I'm going to be
ready for Wimbledon," said Nadal.
"And if not, it does not matter, because Wimbledon is very important and the
motivation is 100%."
The 22-year-old Spaniard is aiming to become the first man to win Roland
Garros and Wimbledon in the same year since Sweden's Bjorn Borg managed the
feat in 1980.
"I've made it to two Wimbledon finals so sure, I can win, but it's a lot of
work," said Nadal.
The other leading names at Hurlingham will be Tomas Berdych, Tommy Haas and
James Blake.

Nadal to complete grass-court preparation in London

Rafael Nadal has confirmed he will play one final grass-court match as part
of his preparation for Wimbledon at the Fortis Tennis Classic on Friday.
The Spaniard, who is coming off his first-ever tournament victory at the
Artois Championships at Queen's Club last week, is set to face Marat Safin in
an exhibition match.
Safin is a former world number one and should provide a decent test for
Nadal, as he looks to overhaul current top-ranked player Roger Federer.
Federer has won Wimbledon for the last five years in succession, although in
2007 he faced arguably his biggest test on Centre Court to date as he was
taken to five sets by Nadal before eventually coming through to win.
Nadal has described his preparation for the All England Club this year as
"amazing".
And he said after beating Novak Djokovic in the Queen's Club final that he
would be raring to go again after returning to his Mallorcan home for a few
days rest this week.
Some other star names set to play at the Fortis Tennis Classic at the
Hurlington Club this week include Tommy Haas, Thomas Berdych and James Blake.
