"We had a great chance at closing this game out, but it snuck away from us." "We played two great games here," said guard Penny Hardaway, whose 17 points and 11 rebounds helped put the Suns in position to win. "We wanted to get one here, and we did. Then we wanted to be very greedy and get two. We were five minutes from doing that, but we still got one and now we have home court." The Suns were effective in Game 1 and through the first three quarters of Game 2 in double-teaming Duncan, but they were a step slow getting there in the fourth quarter. Duncan made them pay, and so did his teammates when the Suns did get to him and he kicked the ball back outside. "We became hesitant for some reason," Suns coach Frank Johnson said. "He took it upon himself to ignore the double teams," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said of Duncan. "He showed great patience. He made great decisions." "I'm going to brag on Danny Ferry," Popovich said. "He did a great job. He's one of those guys who shows up early and stays late. He hasn't played much this year, but he was ready to go." "One of the reasons we were so successful is because we anticipated where the ball was going and we were there the second he (Duncan) caught it," Suns guard Casey Jacobsen said. "He hit three or four shots in a row and there was some confusion about who was going down there (to double). "We're going to work on that. It's something we have to be consistent with. We can't let him do that. They follow his lead, and as soon as he started hitting some shots, they all got confident." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 210.85.216.110 ※ 編輯: nettogrof 來自: 210.85.216.110 (04/22 21:54)
