Steve Nash: MVP ~ Boris Diaw: Most Improved
It is not official. It may not be official for a couple of weeks. But news is
leaking all over NBA-land that the voters have decided.

For the first time in Suns history, a Phoenix Suns player will be named Most
Valuable Player two years in a row. That player is Steve Nash. Nash, 32 years
old, is a fan favorite. He's a player with incredible court vision, unselfish
play, a team role model, and an all around nice guy. This season Steve Nash
achieved career highs in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, and
free-throw percentage. He led the league in assists for the second year in a
row. There was some talk last year, when Nash was awarded MVP, that Amare
Stoudemire made Steve Nash look good. This year, no one at the beginning of
the season could have imagined that the Suns would be in the playoffs without
Amare. That's just how good Steve Nash is.

in the NBA. What a wonderful surprise Diaw has been! Boris came to the
Phoenix Suns in the Joe Johnson trade with Atlanta. He wasn't expected to do
much, until Amare Stoudemire had knee surgery. He became the Suns' starting
center when Kurt Thomas went on the injured list. Diaw has set career highs
in points, rebounds, assists and minutes this year. Arguably, the Phoenix
Suns might not be in the playoffs today if they didn't have Boris Diaw on the
team.

So are these just rumors, or is the source reliable? Not sure, but no matter
how it turns out, they both had great seasons and deserve all the accolades
they get. Too bad there's no award for Shawn Marion. What an amazing
basketball player!
