McGrady not limited to scoring

THERE still will be nights the Rockets can't win without his points. Even
with three defenders hanging on him. Even with a teammate open in the
corner.
依然是沒有麥龜得分就不能贏的比賽，甚至是三個防守員圍繞著他，甚至是隊友在

And there will be nights like Wednesday when another part of Tracy McGrady's
game is on display. Maybe that's what these first few games have been about.
McGrady is showing us that greatness has many layers. Maybe he's learning
himself.
如同週三的比賽一般，又是另一個麥龜秀上演中。也許這是這些剛開季比賽所關系到

Like slicing into the lane in the final seconds, drawing three defenders and
putting a perfect pass in Rafer Alston's hands on the left side.
Alston's 3-point jumper with six seconds remaining nailed down an 86-82
victory over Washington at Toyota Center.

Yes, the Rockets let another big lead slip away. Yes, they missed shots and

points in 17 minutes and bringing energy and a solid defensive presence.

Others, like rookie Steve Novak, will get an opportunity at some point. Even
Bonzi Wells may get a chance. But by the time Wells is ready, Van Gundy may

For the Rockets, though, it still begins with McGrady and Yao Ming. If they
stay on the floor, the Rockets will win 50-plus games and be positioned to
make some noise in the playoffs.Yao was huge again Wednesday, scoring 25
points and grabbing 14 rebounds. McGrady? Scoreless in the fourth quarter.
His line — 13 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists — was the definition of
a different kind of game.And Van Gundy couldn't have been happier. When the
Wizards collapsed around Yao in the final minutes, the game was on McGrady's
shoulders.

He found open teammates. He grabbed rebounds. He did everything except, well,
score.

''We're fortunate to have someone of McGrady's ability to draw defenders,"
Van Gundy said. ''I thought he made two great plays tonight attacking the
paint and trusting his teammates. He passed; he rebounded; he played
defense."

At another point in his career, McGrady might not have passed up those shots.
He promised this season wasn't about individual numbers, and he has backed up
his words with actions.
The thing that got lost when he was an NBA scoring champion was his
extraordinary basketball IQ. McGrady almost always knows where the ball
should go.
Sometimes he didn't trust his teammates enough to put it there. That's what
this 8-4 start has been about.

He's shooting 41 percent this season but has found other ways to help the
Rockets win.
When McGrady arrived two years ago, the Rockets knew they had a great scorer.
As they've gotten to know him better and better, they've discovered he is way
more than that.
He's smart and unselfish. He's a great passer. He's secure enough to defer to
others.
他本季41%的命中率但找到了其它幫助火箭贏球的方法。當他兩年球來到的時候，火箭知

Stopping McGrady and Yao will be every opponent's first option. It's no
longer going to be the only thing on the scouting reports.
